About Us
Luxembourg, a founding member of the European Union, is one the smallest member states, yet its influence over the years within the European Union in policymaking and politics has been enormous.
In addition, Luxembourg is a key European financial hub. It is home to many financial institutions that operate across Europe and many European Union institutions. Together with our partner, YouCanFreeUs, our goal is to raise awareness and provide information to individuals and these institutions that can influence policy change that will have a local and European Union-wide impact.

Birgit Goldak
Birgit Goldak is a partner in a large Luxembourg accounting firm. She specializes in asset and wealth management and alternative funds industry and advises her clients on governance and
anti-money laundering matters.
She holds a bachelor's in fiscal law and a bachelor and Masters in European Studies from the University of Bath and Humbold University of Berlin.
Birgit has a wide international living and working experience and has for many years lived outside of her native country, Germany. Throughout the years she has lived and worked in some capacity or the other in the US, Canada, France, Italy, Greece and the UK.
Her passion is to use her experience and influence to impact people around the world. She currently lives in Luxembourg with her husband and her two sons.
John Mills
John is a lawyer who grew up and completed his studies in South Africa and qualified in multiple jurisdictions. He is a partner and founding shareholder of the Maitland Group, a privately held international financial services group that traces its beginnings back to Luxembourg in 1976.
He has experience in international corporate and private client structuring, financing and investment, and acting as a director for such structures, both regulated and unregulated. Private family and family office services remain an ongoing emphasis.
In 2019 the Luxembourg Government awarded him with the Order of Merit of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg (Officer) for services to the Luxembourg financial sector.
John is committed to supporting those less fortunate and is particularly passionate about bringing change through education, awareness, and empowerment. John has been based in Luxembourg since 1991 and is married to Jessica. They have three children.
Rick Serrano
Rick Serrano is an Executive and a Life Coach with 15 years of experience helping people. He has a portfolio of clients in 8 countries across Europe and the Americas.
Rick is certified by the University of Cambridge and is a member of the Association for Coaching. Rick is an active speaker and is often a keynote speaker at conferences around the world. His 25 years of international management experience, coupled with the cross-national exposure, provide him a platform to be an advisor to top executives worldwide.
Rick works in the area of Training, Coaching, and Change Management at Generali Employee Benefits Insurance in Luxembourg. He holds an MBA from Harvard University, and has done additional management studies at Yale University.
Rick is also very active in the art world and the curator of the exhibition "The Limits of our World - Exploring the fascinating mysteries of Ludwig Wittgenstein," an international art show that brings philosophy to people through the medium of art.
Revel Wood
Co-founder ONE group solutions, the industry-leading fund governance provider in Luxembourg. ONE group comprises four business lines providing solutions in Fund Management, Compliance and Regulatory Consulting, Corporate & Governance Services, Next Generation Technology.
Before this, he was the group CEO of FundRock, (formerly RBS Luxembourg). He navigated through the RBS "exit from Luxembourg" at the helm, steering the company successfully through the carve-out and rebrand FundRock four-fold in three years.
He has also worked as deputy MD and head of business strategy for Northern Trust Fund Services in Luxembourg (including ManCo) and led them with 80% growth in three years during his tenure.
His success in Luxembourg is attributed to building a strong network, and a reputation as a loyal, trusted, and results-oriented industry partner. Before moving to Luxembourg, Revel was Global Head of Derivative Product and Investment Operations Outsourcing (IOO) for Northern Trust in London and contributed to its success of Global Fund Services business expansion.
He is an experienced and energized leader with 30 years of leadership experience, passionate about high-quality customer solutions by inspiring a sense of pride and collective ownership in the teams he leads.
Jonas Mullo
Jonas Mullo graduated from the University of Stockholm and holds a Master's degree in International Commercial Law and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science. He also studied at Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3, France.
He is a senior legal counsel at a UK private equity firm with an office in Luxembourg, focusing on all legal matters relating to private equity and alternative investment funds. He worked in a major Nordic financial institution's legal department after having practiced in law firms based in Luxembourg. He is further a teaching assistant at the University of Stockholm, teaching Master-level students on the topic of investment funds and acting as a Master's thesis supervisor within his field of expertise.
Jonas, a Swedish native with family all over the Nordics, has been involved in many various charitable organisations and initiatives since his time at university.
He feels very fortunate to live in Luxembourg together with his wife and son.
Sujo John
Sujo John is an international motivational speaker and a humanitarian who was launched into public speaking following his survival experience of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, on New York’s World Trade Centers.
He is a visionary who is known for being a developer of ideas that impact people in ways that would not be evident without his ability to recognize the need for restoration. He is a skilled leader who values the relationships he has cultivated with people from every walk of life.
He shares his story of hope and resilience to assemblies at universities, sporting events, Fortune 500 companies, and festivals in hundreds of cities in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa.
He has been featured in national and international media, including National Geographic, BBC, CBC, Associated Press, The New York Times, Huffington Post, The Times-London, Times of India, and the National Post.
Sujo is the founder of YouCanFreeUs, an international human rights organization fighting modern slavery worldwide through advocacy, rescue, and rehabilitation. His fight against modern slavery has encouraged a network of global leaders to raise its voice against the evil of our times. YouCanFreeUs presently operates safes houses, training centers, and strategic intervention hubs in the USA, Canada, UK, India, and Norway.
Sujo is also the Founder of Communicate2Lead; a business initiative focused on helping people master the art of communication.
